In this website, you can find evidence-based information on drug policies and harm reduction. You can access my academic publications, research reports produced during consultancies, and some ideas in-the-making in a blog-style. If you want to know more, feel free to follow my tweets or to contact me for a lecture or a talk.
I hope to inspire you to re-think drug policies!
I am a good listener, a dance lover, and a researcher on drug policies. I have a passion for travelling and experiencing different cultures, getting to know people, and understanding their ways of living and thinking. I was lucky enough to find space for these passions in my work as a researcher, consultant and lecturer, both at NGOs, Government and Universities.
My academic work concentrates on drug use, work processes and drug policies in different cultures. I worked as a psychologist in drug addiction clinics, as an outreach worker in Brazilian shanty-towns, and a trainer for street-level workers from the care field. Both as researcher and consultant, I got the chance to know drug policies and harm reduction in countries such as Indonesia, South Africa, Brazil, and The Netherlands. My cross-cultural skills include having taught students from many parts of the world, engaging with multi-cultural social and work environments, and being a Brazilian living in the Netherlands. My main professional drives are curiosity, innovation, and social relevancy; and I am always up for an open and friendly conversation!
